The late architect John Meagher designed this house by the sea. The new owners invited us to remodel the interiors after they bought the house a few years after it was built. We did so in a way that was true to Meagher’s vision, which was inspired by Alvar Aalto and Eileen Gray. The colours and materials used throughout reflect the changing sea and sky outside.
The brief was to enhance the sense of warmth and comfort achieved through the architecture. We used a mix of collector pieces, antiques and new Irish designs to give each room its own identity and make structural amendments to the layout and finishes.
