ORWELL

This house had been constructed as part of a larger development and sold as a shell only. Our clients were a young couple and the brief for the decoration was to be comfortable and classic. We were inspired by original Arts and Crafts houses in the area and that formed the concept for the fit out.

The plan is divided by a central stair hall. To give an impression of space we used an oak herringbone floor across the entire ground floor. The walls dividing the ground floor we clad in panelling to make them appear like divisions of a larger space. The panelling also conceals storage and houses the TV.

At the first floor, we combined two rooms to make a large master bedroom suite with a separate dressing room and bathroom.

The decoration has a neutral background with pale colours on the walls and linen curtains, with colour and interest provided by the furniture and accessories.
