We were asked to reinstate a Victorian house in the country that had been insensitively altered in the past twenty years. Using traditional materials and crafts, we brought back the integrity of the house and modernised services. We lime-rendered the exterior and carefully altered the first-floor layout to allow for bathrooms. The kitchen was moved to the main floor, as part of a thorough refurbishment.
There are now modern family areas, entertaining areas and bedroom suites. The decoration was conceived around darker rooms to the north-facing front of the house and lighter to the south-facing rear.
